There is nothing rational about love. There is nothing rational about the way I felt about you. You were a handful, and because of that, I never became bored. I fell in love with the idea of you. I fell for your interest in music. Your hidden intelligence. Your humor. Your hair. Your carefree attitude. I fell for these things and I emphasized them. Just enough to look over your incompetence, your addictions, your lack of effort, your lack of ambition. Maybe those things balanced out, or maybe I made them balance. Maybe I just needed a distraction and I created one big enough to break my own heart.
