I was trying too hard and you weren’t trying at all, yet I still wouldn’t listen. But it’s so hard to listen to silence even when it’s louder than the way you feel. Silence is too easy to ignore. If she wanted to be heard, she should speak up more. She’s really only noticeable in person or with someone you’ve just met. That’s when she chooses to fill a room with a thick uncomfortable fog that everyone tries to avoid and escape. So I’ve made the conclusion that silence makes no mistake when she chooses to be loud or when she chooses to be quiet. She’s hinting at a truth that’s hard to hear and often it’s a truth we already feel.
